Daniel King Obituary, 23yrs,Woodstock Man Killed in Crystal Lake-Area Crash Identified
McHenry County Coroner’s Office has identified Daniel King, a 23-year-old Woodstock resident, as the individual who tragically died in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning near Crystal Lake. An autopsy conducted on Monday determined blunt force injuries as the preliminary cause of death, with toxicology results still pending.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office reported that their initial investigation suggests King was traveling westbound on Butternut Drive when his vehicle failed to navigate a curve. The Toyota reportedly veered off the roadway to the south, crossed Chestnut Drive, and ultimately collided with several trees. King was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have indicated that speed, weather conditions, and alcohol may have been contributing factors to the fatal accident. The Coroner’s Office is collaborating with the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department as the investigation continues.
